The Opal Monitor delivers saturated sound with an above-average midrange clarity and well-controlled bass that gives tracks compactness and speed. As expected from the Opal series, it provides excellent readability and insight into recordings without becoming overly technical. The stage is suggestive, and the sound separation from the speakers does not cause any trouble. The set is also a perfect companion for a home recording studio as it allows comfortable listening from a short distance.
The Opal Monitor features a two-way design based on our PSW 18.8 CS/M woofer, which has been adapted for smaller enclosures by modifying the suspension susceptibility. Its paper diaphragm, additionally coated, delivers selective sound with a warm midrange. The treble is handled by a 25 mm silk dome tweeter, allowing closer acoustic centers due to its compact size. Both drivers are housed in an 18 mm body, including the back of the cabinet, with a thicker 22 mm front plate to reduce front wall vibration. For maximum structural stiffness, reinforcements have been added at crucial points.
